This page explains which cookies micabi.co.uk sets, who sets them and how to remove them. The website is run by MiCabi Ltd, which places the cookies described here. Google is a separate controller for what it does with the information it receives.
No cookie banner
This website does not show a cookie banner and does not ask you to accept cookies. The Google Ads tag described below runs when a page loads, and the cookies listed on this page are set without a separate prompt. We say so plainly here and in our privacy policy so that you can decide whether to block them.
What the cookies are for
MiCabi advertises on Google. The Google Ads tag (tag ID AW-956703413) measures which adverts lead to a phone tap, a WhatsApp tap, an email tap or a booking request, and we use it to count those enquiries. It does not carry your name, phone number, email address or booking details.
Cookies set by the Google Ads tag
- _gcl_au: set on micabi.co.uk by the Google tag. Google uses it to measure and report how well adverts lead to enquiries. Google documents a lifetime of 90 days.
- _gcl_aw: set on micabi.co.uk when you arrive by clicking one of our Google adverts. It stores the Google click identifier so that an enquiry can be matched to that click. Google documents a lifetime of 90 days.
- Other _gcl_ cookies: cookies with other names beginning _gcl_ (for example _gcl_gs or _gcl_ag) may also appear. They hold advert click information for measurement. Their exact names and lifetimes are set by Google and can change.
Google’s own domains, such as google.com, googleadservices.com and doubleclick.net, may also read or set their own cookies when the tag sends a measurement. Those cookies are controlled by Google, not by MiCabi, and are described in Google’s cookie information.
What this website stores itself
The pages of this website set no cookies of their own. If you use the motion button in the page footer, your browser keeps that choice in local storage under the name micabi:motion, so that the next page remembers it. It stays on your device and is not sent to MiCabi or to Google.
How to block or delete these cookies
You can delete the cookies above, or stop them being set, in your browser’s settings; the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. A browser setting or content blocker that blocks third-party scripts stops the Google tag loading, and with it the measurement.
To control how Google personalises the ads it shows you, use Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.
